Agile Test Automation Engineer, Quality Assurance

Oversees technical implementation of quality control and testing across the technology lifecycle, identifying and addressing issues in alignment with standards and technology strategy.Role Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:- Oversees technical implementation of quality control, testing and analysis, providing guidance where issues arise.- Assigns required tests to Associate Engineer, Engineer and Senior Engineer as required.- Develops technical testing programmes throughout the entire technologies' lifecycles that address areas such as functionality, compatibility, reliability and usability.- Leads a wide range of quality control planning and execution activities in alignment with the organisation's standards and strategy to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified business and customer needs.- Gathers testing requirements by evaluating the product requirement specifications (functional / non-functional) and raise clarifications with product owners, business analysts and customers.- Reviews and approves test plans and scripts to ensure alignment with standards and technology strategy.- Oversees the maintenance of all customer technology solutions, ensuring all issues are resolved on time.- Recommends and implements, as assigned, improvements to quality control frameworks, processes and best practices.Qualifications & Experience:- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent- ISTQB Core Advanced/Specialist Certified or equivalent- Exhibits strong knowledge in software quality assurance processes and methodologies- Exhibits strong experience in manual, test automation or performance testing- Exhibits strong experience in the software development life cycle and one programming language, preferably in multi-tiered applications.Job Description (Job advert content)Role ProfileDepartment Description – FTSE Russell Engineering are responsible for the requirements, design, development, and quality assurance testing of all application software used by the D&A business. The candidate will  be involved in QA Automated and functional testing and build and manage automation solutions for use within the LSE QA team. The role will be the key driver for an increase in LSEG test automation uptake & coverage level as part of the Agile/Automation first approach.Key ResponsibilitiesWorking in Bengaluru and reporting to the QA RTF Lead, the role will be an important part of the QA RTF Team. Key areas of responsibility are:Automation• Development, maintenance, and execution of automated tests using the existing automation framework, Javascript, Typescript, Protractor, Selenium, Mocha or if appropriate identifying and implementing other suitable Test Tools• Guiding Test Analysts and on occasions members of the Development Team in the usage and development of automated tests• Liaising with Developers and Architects to identify methods to test stories before the code is written so any hooks can be designed in• Development and maintenance of Test Data Sets used by the Automated tests• Creating or enhancing other tools that simplify repetitive tasks, again saving testing time and helping regular incremental delivery into Live e.g. Test HarnessesManual - Functional  Testing• Ensuring that project deliverables meet business requirements• Liaison with Development, QA Functional Testers and the Business• Development Test Strategy, Test Plans , Test cases & Execution of Test Scripts• Production of Execution ReportsKey Behaviours• Highly motivated, self-starterTo be successful in this role, we would like you to have proven experience or knowledge of the following technologies and tools:Develops in-depth analysis, which may be technically complex, and is recognized as a specialist Quality AutomationProficient in multiple programming languages.
