Job Description: Data Governance Manager


Location: Gurgaon, India/Bangalore India

Experience Required: 9 to 15 Years

Travel Requirement: Willingness to travel to Saudi Arabia (three weeks in Saudi Arabia and one week in India, rotationally).

Relocation: Candidates must be open to relocating to Saudi Arabia as per project requirements.


Role Overview:


We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Data Governance Manager to lead and support data strategy and data governance-based engagements. The role requires expertise in data governance frameworks, policies, and strategies to ensure data quality, compliance, and accessibility. The ideal candidate should have the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage stakeholders, and deliver solutions in alignment with organizational goals.


This position will be based in Gurgaon/Bangalore but involves frequent travel to Saudi Arabia for short-term assignments.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Data Strategy and Governance:

• Develop and implement enterprise-wide data governance frameworks and policies.

• Define and execute strategies for data management, quality, and compliance.

• Provide guidance on data ownership, stewardship, and accountability to ensure alignment with business objectives.

2. Stakeholder Engagement:

• Collaborate with key stakeholders, including business leaders and IT teams, to ensure data governance initiatives meet business needs.

• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for data governance, driving awareness and adoption across the organization.

3. Data Quality and Compliance:

• Design and implement data quality controls and metrics to monitor and improve data accuracy, integrity, and reliability.

• Ensure compliance with data privacy and protection regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, or equivalent standards.

4. Metadata Management and Documentation:

• Establish and maintain a centralized metadata repository.

• Document data assets, standards, and definitions to ensure transparency and consistency.

5. Global Collaboration and Travel:

• Lead and support data governance engagements in Saudi Arabia, working closely with local and global teams.

• Coordinate efforts to bridge organizational and regional data governance practices.


Required Skills & Qualifications:


• Technical Expertise:

• Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM).

• Experience with data quality tools, metadata management systems, and data privacy regulations.

• Familiarity with data management technologies and platforms.

• Experience:

• 9–13 years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles.

• Proven ability to manage large-scale data governance initiatives.

• Educational Background:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field.

• Soft Skills:

• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.

• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

• Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic and multicultural work environment.


Preferred Skills:


• Experience working in the Middle East region, particularly in Saudi Arabia.

• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Certification in data governance or data management frameworks.
