The University of Sussex International Office are responsible for identifying opportunities and developing and implementing the University's strategy for student recruitment. Sussex’s strategy sets ambitious goals for the international team and for the enhanced recruitment of a diverse group of overseas students to our campus.


The Role:         

This role will support the Regional Advisor and Student Recruitment Advisor to achieve recruitment targets from India and will take a lead in the enquirer and offer-holder communications.


Reporting:

The Support and Conversion Officer will report directly to the Regional Advisor in India with whom they will work closely.


Key Responsibilities:

1.     Nurture leads collected at recruitment events and other initiatives to generate credible applications to Sussex, providing support and advice to enquirers as required. Proactively initiate follow-up contact with inquirer database and leads collected in a timely manner.

2.     Lead on offer-holder conversion by providing comprehensive support on matters such as offer acceptance, additional document requirements, and other admission-related matters via telephone, email, and face-to-face interactions. Update and maintain applicant communication records.

3.     To represent the client at recruitment events (both online and in person), providing a professional and accurate representation of the University to prospective students, their parents, and counsellors. Attend education events, conferences, webinars, and virtual events and represent the university as and when required.

4.     Provide prompt, comprehensive, accurate information and advice to education agents, University of Sussex staff, and applicants and their families.

5.     Build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders in the education sector such as agent partners, partner universities, and sector-wide organizations. Help establish and service the client’s university partnerships to maximize recruitment from these channels.

6.     Adhere to the client’s GDPR and CMA guidelines.

7.     Maintain engagement and support agents and other key channel partners. This will include providing information, training, and a high level of customer service.

8.     Liaise and coordinate with appropriate teams for administrative issues and problem-solving.

9.     Provide support in the form of online research, gathering market intelligence, information management, updating databases, presentations and supporting event organization and administration. 


Person Specifications:

·      Educated to degree level (mandatory)

·      At least 3 years of experience in this field or a similar field such as account management/sales/business development/CRM (mandatory)

·      Ability to use initiative to problem solve and resolve issues (mandatory)

·      Excellent oral and written communication skills (mandatory)

·      Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office suite (mandatory)

·      The ability to self-motivate and work independently and as part of a team (mandatory)

·      Knowledge of the higher education industry, with knowledge of the UK higher education system (desirable)

·      Knowledge of the Indian secondary and tertiary education systems (desirable)

·      Experience presenting and/or representing an organization (desirable)

·      Experience working in student or customer-facing roles (desirable)

·      Willingness and ability to work flexible hours when required by the role (mandatory)

·      Willingness and ability to travel regularly (across India and abroad) including on weekends and evenings (mandatory)

·      Experience working with international clients (desirable)
