Role: Network Product Owner

Location: Remote (Anywhere in India)


Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Network Product Owner to lead the development and management of our Software Defined Network (SDN) solutions in a large-scale enterprise environment. The successful candidate will bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring the design, delivery, and operation of network services align with organizational goals. You will play a pivotal role in driving the adoption of SDN technology, delivering scalable, secure, and resilient network solutions.


Key Responsibilities

Product Ownership

  • Define and communicate the vision, strategy, and roadmap for SDN solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Maintain and prioritize the product backlog, converting business requirements into actionable user stories and epics.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify needs, validate solutions, and ensure the network strategy delivers business value.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Act as the primary point of contact between technical teams (network engineers, architects, and developers) and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Facilitate communication between business units, IT teams, and external vendors to align objectives and expectations.
  • Present updates, performance metrics, and product outcomes to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Network Design and Delivery

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and operation of SDN solutions, ensuring they meet scalability, performance, and security requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement advanced network automation, orchestration, and monitoring solutions.
  • Ensure SDN designs adhere to industry best practices and compliance standards.

Performance and Optimization

  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of network initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement in network performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Champion the adoption of modern tools and processes, such as Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines for network management.

Leadership and Coaching

  • Guide teams in adopting Agile methodologies to manage the lifecycle of network products.
  • Provide mentorship to junior team members and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation within the team.
  • Partner with vendors and consultants to ensure timely delivery of services and solutions.


Required Skills and Experience

Technical Expertise

  • Strong understanding of Software Defined Networking (SDN) concepts, protocols (e.g., OpenFlow, BGP, OSPF), and architecture.
  • Proven experience with SDN technologies such as Cisco ACI, VMware NSX, or Juniper Contrail.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking and hybrid cloud integration.
  • Knowledge of network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, NetConf) and monitoring solutions (e.g., SolarWinds, Zabbix, Prometheus).

Business Acumen

  • Experience in aligning network strategies with business goals in large organizations.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language.
  • Track record of delivering network solutions that balance performance, cost, and user experience.

Agile Product Management

  • Hands-on experience managing product lifecycles using Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Proficiency in backlog management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
  • Strong ability to write user stories, define acceptance criteria, and facilitate sprint planning sessions.

Leadership and Communication

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven experience working in cross-functional teams and managing vendor relationships.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or AWS/Azure certifications.
  • Experience working in highly regulated industries (e.g., financial services, healthcare, or government).
