Position: VDI Support EngineerExperience Required: Minimum 4 yearsCertification: VMware / Omnissa certified professionalGeneral RequirementsQualification: BE/B.Tech or First Class in Computer Science / Information Technology / Electronics.Experience: Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in VMware / Omnissa VDI.Training: The posted engineer must have undergone training from VMware/Omnissa on VDI.These three requirements may be relaxed only for highly skilled candidates after internal evaluation.Final round technical interview will be conducted by the client’s technical panel.Roles & ResponsibilitiesManage all software-related issues in the VDI environment.Handle VDI software–hardware integrations and coordinate with the hardware team as required.Perform centralized administration of the full VDI deployment.Troubleshoot issues related to client configurations in a VDI environment.Monitor VDI performance and ensure smooth operations.Provide support during VDI upgrades, patching, and POC deployments.Coordinate with VMware/Omnissa support teams if required.Activities to be Carried Out by the VDI EngineerMonitoring health status of ESXi hosts, VMs, and vCenter.Resetting the ESXi root password and locking/unlocking ESXi accounts.Checking and managing datastore utilization across ESXi hosts.Checking alarms, warnings, and events in vCenter.Checking performance (CPU/Memory/Network/Storage) for all ESXi hosts and VMs.Uploading ISO files to the datastore for software installation.Creating, managing, and modifying Virtual Machines in vCenter.Performing storage vMotion and host vMotion for VMs.Health-check monitoring of VMware Horizon.Updating vCenter and vSAN licenses in vSphere.Entering ESXi hypervisor into Maintenance Mode and exiting.Adding new hard disks to virtual machines in vCenter.Verification of all VDI services when performing maintenance.Managing & troubleshooting High Availability and cluster-level issues.Upgrading VMware Tools and verifying service health.Creating and managing snapshots.Creating and managing Templates/Cloned Virtual Machines.Updating latest patch versions for ESXi hosts.Increasing CPU or memory resources for virtual machines as required.Configuring virtual port groups, network adapters, and NIC teaming.Creating and configuring Clusters.Configuring virtual switches (Distributed/Standard).Adding or removing ESXi hosts from clusters.Configuring HA, DRS & FT features.Managing Horizon VDI software.Troubleshooting issues reported by other unit users working in VDI.Skills RequiredStrong hands-on experience with VMware Horizon / Omnissa VDI.Good understanding of VDI architecture, provisioning, image management, and client configurations.Ability to troubleshoot both software and basic hardware issues in a VDI setup.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
