It should capture only the key responsibilities of the role.SECTION III: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLEResponsibilitiesPolicies, Processes and ProceduresAssist in formulation of cargo operations plan and ensure day-to-day execution in line with function standards & regulationsImplement new initiatives/ projects as per established policies to meet future requirements of cargo operationsProvide inputs for improvements in cargo operations related processes, specifications and best practicesKeep abreast with state and local regulations as well as occupational hazards pertaining to operations & logistics to drive improvements in the areas of marine operationsMarine OperationsCarry out safe berthing and un-berthing of vessels at jetty berths, single point mooring (SPM), lift-on/ lift-off (LOLO)Supervise all cargo operations including pre cargo transfer conference, preparing cargo and ballast operation plan, safe connection / disconnection of hoses, cargo measurement and completion of all operational documentationExpedite cargo operations at SPM for faster turnaround of vesselsPerform periodic vessel/ tanker inspections. Inform and / or issue vessel deficiency note if requiredSupervise crude oil washing operations during discharge of crude tankers to ensure safe operationsAct as on-scene commander in the event of any emergency such as an oil-spillage, exhibit incident command & control technique, and ensure mobilization of resources for emergency control and mitigationIssue letters of protest on safety issues and delays arising due to equipment failure or any other related incidentsPeople ManagementParticipate in recruitment activities & ensure retention/ engagement of own teamSet performance objectives of own team, evaluate/ appraise team members and provide regular feedback & guidanceGuide, mentor and develop own team to take larger and complex responsibilitiesEvaluate training and development requirements for own team and make recommendations for learning interventions Policies, Processes and ProceduresSECTION IV: SUCCESS METRICSIncident free pilotage operationExpedite cargo operation turnaround and minimize ROBTraining and validation of new joined pilots, SPMO & SPMBOKey Interactions:Internal: Marine tank farm and EPSExternal: Master of vessels visiting the terminalSECTION V: OPERATING NETWORKMinimum qualification, technical competencies and capabilities which are essential to execute the role. It may not be a reflection of job holder's own qualification and competenciesSECTION VI: KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIESEducation Qualifications - Master FG certificate issued by Director General Of Shipping, IndiaExperience (Must have)2-3 years of work experience of pilotage in handling VLCC at SPMs, Aframax at Jetty berths, tanker (Oil/ Chemical/ Gas)FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIESKnowledge of MARPOL, SOLAS, DGS, and MS actKnowledge of statutory requirement of tanker operationsPilotage skillPort operations (including knowledge about tug operations)Experience (Good to have)-
