Bioinformatics Pipeline Developer

Your Tasks

• Develop and maintain the Nextflow pipelines for our Online Pipeline Platform, OP².
• Use your bioinformatics expertise to extend our analytical capabilities
• Work closely together with our domain experts to transform their knowledge into code
• Support our customers by investigating pipeline issues and resolving them

Essential Requirements

• You have a BSc or MSc in an appropriate field (e.g. Bioinformatics, Bioengineering, Computer Science).
• You have experience developing Bioinformatics pipelines, ideally using Nextflow.
• You are proficient in Python and R.
• You can understand basic Bash scripts and find your way around Linux systems.
• You are proficient in at least one bioinformatics workflow, such as variant calling, transcriptomics, or immune repertoire profiling.
• You have experience with basic development tools such Git, Docker, and Jira.
• You apply the best practices from software engineering such as code versioning, clean coding, testing, and containerization.

Desirable Traits

• You have experience working with AWS (S3, ECR, AWS Batch).
• You have experience working in cross-functional teams consisting of bioinformaticians and software engineers.
• You have experience with cloud services for compute, data storage, and containerization.
• You are eager to learn about various bioinformatics domains such as epigenomics, metagenomics, proteomics, etc.
