Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with 5 to 8 years of expertise in civil construction, particularly in preparing and managing Bills of Quantities (BOQ). The ideal candidate will take a lead role in cost estimation, budgeting, and contract administration, ensuring accurate financial management throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- BOQ Preparation:Lead the development of comprehensive Bills of Quantities for civil construction projects, ensuring all items are accurately measured and detailed.
- Cost Estimation:Prepare and review detailed cost estimates based on the BOQ, accounting for labor, materials, and overheads, and ensuring competitive pricing.
- Budget Management: Monitor and manage project budgets, analyzing expenditures, identifying discrepancies, and recommending corrective actions as necessary.
- Contract Administration: Oversee contract management, including the negotiation of terms with subcontractors and suppliers, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Measurement and Valuation:Conduct site measurements and valuations of completed work, ensuring accurate billing and compliance with the BOQ.
- Documentation: Maintain organized project documentation, including cost reports, invoices, variation orders, and any necessary amendments.
- Leadership and Collaboration:Mentor junior quantity surveyors and collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to support effective project execution.
- Reporting:Generate and present financial reports and forecasts, providing insights into cost performance and identifying potential risks associated with the BOQ.
- Site Inspections:Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, compliance with specifications, and adherence to project timelines.
