General Manager, Brand Operations
Reports To: Vice President Operations
Main Objective -
Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hotel to ensure high standards of service and guest satisfaction. This role involves managing staff, coordinating departments, and implementing strategies to enhance operational efficiency and profitability. The Operations Manager ensures that all aspects of hotel operations run smoothly and in alignment with the hotel's policies and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight:
Supervise daily operations across all departments, including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance.
Ensure that guest service standards are met and exceeded, resolving any issues or complaints promptly.
Monitor and manage hotel occupancy levels and room rates to maximize revenue.
2. Staff Management:
Recruit, train, and supervise hotel staff, ensuring they adhere to hotel policies and procedures.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff members.
Coordinate with the Human Resources department to handle employee relations, disciplinary actions, and scheduling.
3. Guest Experience:
Develop and implement strategies to enhance guest satisfaction and loyalty.
Handle guest inquiries and resolve complaints in a professional manner.
Ensure that all guest requests and special requirements are addressed promptly.
Financial Management:
Prepare and manage budgets, monitor expenditures, and analyse financial reports to ensure profitability.
Oversee inventory control and procurement of supplies and equipment.
Implement cost-control measures and operational efficiencies to maximize revenue and minimize expenses.
5. Quality Control:
Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities to ensure they meet cleanliness and maintenance standards.
Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to maintain high standards of service.
Address any operational issues or discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
6. Marketing and Sales:
Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing team to develop and execute promotional campaigns and strategies.
Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.
Assist in developing pricing strategies and packages to attract and retain guests.
7. Compliance and Safety:
Ensure that the hotel complies with all local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety standards.
Implement and monitor safety procedures and emergency response plans.
Maintain accurate records of compliance and safety inspections.
8. Reporting and Communication:
Prepare and present regular reports on hotel performance, including occupancy rates, revenue, and guest satisfaction.
Communicate effectively with other department heads to address operational issues and implement improvements.
In addition to the above mentioned duties and job functions, any other assignment given on an occasional basis or daily basis by the immediate superior or the management will have to be carried out.
Qualification & Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in a managerial role within the hospitality industry.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in hotel management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Minimum 15 years of experience in hospitality industry, with at least 10 years of experience in Managerial role and 2 years of experience as a Unit Head.
