Today 5paisa is a go-to platform for serious traders and investors.Role OverviewAs a Lead Backend Engineer, you’ll be responsible for rewriting and modernizing our backend APIs using Java Spring Boot and microservice architecture. You’ll work in a fast-paced, product-driven environment, focusing on latency optimization, query performance, scalable architecture, and distributed caching strategies.What You’ll DoArchitect, develop, and optimize high-performance microservices in Java/Spring Boot.Reduce API latency and improve system throughput for high-volume trading workloads.Design and fine-tune complex SQL queries; optimize database performance.Implement distributed caching, async messaging, and resilient system design.Collaborate closely with product and frontend teams to deliver business-critical APIs.Ensure stability, clarity, and order in fast-moving projects.Ability to mentor junior engineers/interns as required.Optionally leverage AI-assisted code generation and test automation to accelerate delivery.What We’re Looking For8+ years of backend development experience using Java/Spring Boot.Strong grasp of microservice architecture, REST APIs, WebSocket, SQL optimization and scalability patterns.Experience with Redis, Kafka, MSSQL (or any other DB like Postgres, MySQL), profiling tools, and performance tuning.Exposure to cloud-native (Kubernetes, Docker) environments preferred (especially on MS Azure).Startup mindset — thrives in fast execution cycles, ambiguity, and evolving requirements.Bonus: Familiarity with AI-driven dev/test tools (Claude Code, Cursor etc.)What You Can Expect:Learning and Growth: Be part of a team that values continuous learning in the Legal and Compliance framework and encourages mentorship.
