Position Overview: We are looking for a skilled Integration Engineer to join our team, responsible for integrating and installing new software solutions within our learning management system (LMS). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SSO Protocols like OAuth, SAML, JWT etc. The candidate should also have thorough knowledge of LTI (Learning tools interoperability) protocol for integration. Experience in the EdTech domain is a must. This role will also involve assisting in proof-of-concept (POC) projects to explore and evaluate new technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Software Installation and Integration: Lead the installation and integration of new software applications within the LMS ecosystem, ensuring compatibility with existing systems and adherence to organizational standards. The candidate should have worked on Open-source software installations.


LMS implementation experience: The candidate should have worked in the education domain and should be well versed with installing and configuring LMS software existing in the market like Open edX, Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard etc.


SSO integration: Well versed with implementation of SSO protocols like OAuth, SAML, JWT etc. to integrate LMS with third-party applications such as content providers, single sign-on solutions, and other educational tools.


LTI: Implement and configure LTI (Learning Tools Interoperability) protocols to facilitate secure and seamless access to third-party tools and resources within the LMS. Thorough knowledge of LTI 1.3 including deep links and gradebook and working as both a tool producer and consumer.


API Development and Management: Develop, document, and manage RESTful APIs to enable data exchange between various applications and services, ensuring efficient integration and data consistency.


Custom integration: Ability to develop and demonstrate custom integrations to address unique client needs.


Collaboration with Development Teams: Work closely with software developers, system architects, and instructional designers to identify integration requirements and ensure the successful deployment of educational technologies.


Proof-of-Concept Projects: Assist in the planning, development, and execution of proof-of-concept (POC) projects to evaluate new technologies and tools, providing technical insights and recommendations for implementation.


Troubleshooting and Support: Proactively troubleshoot and resolve integration-related issues, leveraging diagnostic tools and logs to ensure optimal system performance and user experience.


Documentation and Knowledge Transfer: Maintain comprehensive documentation of integration processes, configurations, and best practices, and provide knowledge transfer sessions to team members to ensure continuity and support.


Technology Evaluation: Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in the EdTech domain, evaluating their potential impact on integration strategies and recommending solutions to enhance system capabilities.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology
  • Overall 8+ years of experience with at least 3+ years working as integration Engineer.
  • Proven experience in software integration and installation, particularly in an LMS environment.
  • Should have worked on at least one of the following LMS platforms: Open edX, Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, Adobe Learning Manager etc.
  • Strong knowledge of LTI, OAuth, and SAML protocols.
  • Familiarity with programming and scripting languages relevant to integration tasks (e.g., Python, Java).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good English oral and written skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud-based (Azure preferred) infrastructure and platforms.
  • Certification in EdTech or related fields.
  • Previous involvement in POC projects or technology evaluations.
