KniTT is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead and manage AWS cloud migration project/s. The ideal candidate shall have a proven track record in project management, strong knowledge of cloud computing, and experience with project management of large-scale migrations. This role requires close collaboration with technical teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure the successful transition of on-premises infrastructure to AWS.

Responsibilities

  • Define the project scope, goals, milestones, deliverables, and timelines for the AWS cloud migration initiative.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, resource allocations, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate and oversee all phases of the migration project, including discovery, planning, design, migration, testing, and post-migration support.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to assess existing infrastructure and create migration strategies.
  • Oversee workload migrations, including re-hosting, re-platforming, or refactoring applications for AWS.
  • Ensure compliance with AWS best practices, security, and governance standards during migration.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks related to migration, such as downtime, data loss, or security vulnerabilities.
  • Co-ordinating issues troubleshooting that arise during the migration and coordinate timely resolutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholder teams to manage cloud costs and ensure cost-effective AWS resource utilization.
  • Monitor migration progress and validate the performance of migrated systems on AWS.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, including cloud architects, system administrators, network engineers, and business analysts.
  • Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure alignment of project objectives.
  • Manage third-party vendors and contractors involved in the migration process.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders, including project status reports, risk assessments, and financial summaries.
  • Prepare project documentation, including lessons learned and post-migration evaluations.


Qualifications


Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.


Experience:

  • 15+ years of project management experience, with a focus on IT infrastructure and cloud projects.
  • At least 10 years of hands-on experience managing AWS cloud migration projects.
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale cloud migration or infrastructure transformation projects.


Certifications:

  • Must to have - Project Management: PMP, PRINCE2, PMI-ACP, Certified Scrum Master or equivalent.
  • Good to have - AWS: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.
  • ITIL Foundation (preferred).


Essential Skills

  • Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, and CloudFormation.
  • Knowledge of migration tools like AWS Migration Hub, CloudEndure, and Database Migration Service (DMS).
  • Understanding of DevOps practices, automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible), and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with security, compliance, and governance in AWS environments.
  • Strong project planning, scheduling, and resource management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficiency in risk management and problem-solving during complex migrations.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on business impact and technical feasibility.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in hybrid cloud or multi-cloud migration strategies.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networking, databases, and storage systems.
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
