Job Title: Purchase Executive
Location: Bangalore
Department: Procurement / Purchasing
Job Summary:
The Purchase Executive is responsible for supporting the procurement function, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, supplies, and services. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, maintaining records, managing orders, and ensuring that purchasing processes are aligned with company goals and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Management: Identify and evaluate suppliers for required goods and services based on quality, cost, and delivery schedules.
- Order Placement: Create and process purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
- Supplier Relations: Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and seek new suppliers to optimize purchasing processes.
- Negotiation & Cost Control: Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best deals.
- Inventory Management: Coordinate with inventory and store departments to ensure stock levels are maintained efficiently and meet operational needs.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier communications. Generate purchase-related reports for management review.
- Compliance: Ensure that all procurement activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and industry best practices.
- Quality Control: Verify product quality and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Vendor Payments: Coordinate with the finance team to ensure timely vendor payments in line with agreed-upon terms.
- Market Research: Stay updated on market trends and pricing to advise on purchasing decisions and optimize costs.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in a similar industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word), and familiarity with ERP or procurement software (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective negotiation and collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, trends, and market conditions to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve procurement-related issues and challenges efficiently.
