MS SQL Database Administrator

We're seeking a Database Administrator to manage and support SQL Server databases on mission-critical high volume OLTP production systems. The ideal candidate will possess some database development background as well as current experience as a production SQL Server database administrator. The role requires a proactive and self motivated individual, who is willing to take an idea, groom it into a well defined user story, and see through the implementation. Responsibilities:Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance to ensure high levels of performance, availability and securityTroubleshoot and resolve performance issuesSQL Server performance tuning, including analyzing query execution plans, SQL server profiling, index design and tuning, and index maintenance strategiesDatabase backup management and recoveryDatabase administration related projects, as neededRespond to critical and non-critical production alerts, and availability to be on an on-call rotation schedule to provide production support when critical issues arise will be requiredCreate requested database objects and assist with production releasesQualifications:4-6 years SQL Server experience, with 2+ years SQL Server development experience, 3+ years in Database AdministrationBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related majorSQL Server 2016 and 2019 experience required. Experience with AzureExtensive experience writing SQL queries and stored proceduresExperience optimizing queries and database objects, including advanced skills in index design and maintenanceExperience with SQL Server Service Broker, SQL Server in a Windows Cluster environment, and AlwaysOn Availability GroupsExperience with encryption including TDE and Always EncryptedExperience with monitoring tools such as SQL Monitor, Zabbix, SolarWinds, Idera, System CenterExcellent problem solving and effective research skillsDedication and willingness to work some alternative schedules as necessaryEffective verbal and written communication skillsSelf-motivated with the ability to work as part of a team or independentlyExperience supporting enterprise level production systems in a fast-paced, high availability server environmentDesired Qualifications:Experience in PostgreSQL is a plusPrismHR is a fast-paced SaaS company which provides customers with a cloud-based payroll process software application.
