Experience: 2+ years in Technical Writing, Product Documentation, or Developer Docs
Company Description
Scry AI is a research-led enterprise AI company that builds intelligent platforms for BFSI institutions to drive efficiency, insight, and compliance. Our solutions support complex workflows across finance, insurance, and operations by automating data extraction, analysis, and real-time intelligence delivery.
We are looking for a Documentation Specialist to own customer-facing and internal documentation. You will translate complex AI and enterprise workflows into clear guides, API references, and in-product help that accelerate adoption and reduce support load.
Role Overview
As a Documentation Specialist, you will plan, author, and maintain high-quality documentation across product guides, API references, release notes, and knowledge base content. You will collaborate with product managers, engineers, designers, and support to ensure accuracy, consistency, and discoverability. Your work will help customers onboard faster, developers integrate reliably, and internal teams operate with a single source of truth.
Key Responsibilities
Content Strategy and Planning
- Maintain a documentation roadmap aligned to product releases and client onboarding.
- Define content scope, audiences, and success criteria for each doc set.
- Prioritize updates based on usage analytics, support tickets, and stakeholder input.
Authoring and Editing
- Write and edit product guides, how-tos, FAQs, troubleshooting, and release notes.
- Create developer documentation including API concepts, endpoints, examples, and error catalogs.
- Produce visuals such as screenshots, diagrams, short clips, and step-by-step flows.
Information Architecture and Governance
- Establish and enforce style guides, terminology, and reusable components.
- Organize content with clear navigation, versioning, and cross-references.
- Ensure accessibility and localization readiness.
Collaboration and Source of Truth
- Partner with PMs and engineers to validate behavior in staging or demo environments.
- Review PRs affecting user-visible behavior and update docs accordingly.
- Consolidate knowledge from playbooks, runbooks, and solution design into structured docs.
Docs Platform and Tooling
- Manage docs stack such as Markdown, Git, and static site frameworks.
- Set up review workflows, CI for docs builds, and release gating for doc readiness.
- Maintain API reference generation from OpenAPI or equivalent.
Quality, Analytics, and SEO
- Instrument docs for search and engagement analytics.
- Run experiments on structure and messaging to improve task completion rates.
- Implement SEO best practices for public knowledge bases.
Compliance and Security Notes
- Document data handling, privacy, and compliance considerations for BFSI clients.
- Maintain versioned change logs and audit-friendly records.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- 2+ years in technical writing or product documentation for software.
- Strong command of plain language and audience-focused structuring.
- Hands-on with Git-based workflows and issue trackers.
- Experience with docs frameworks such as Docusaurus, MkDocs, or Sphinx.
- Ability to read API specs and craft accurate examples.
- Excellent communication, interviewing, and editing skills.
Preferred
- Experience documenting APIs or SDKs, familiarity with REST or GraphQL and tools like Postman.
- Exposure to AI, data pipelines, or ML model lifecycle concepts.
- Understanding of enterprise or BFSI workflows, security, and compliance needs.
- Basic scripting for demos, code samples, or automated screenshots.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Brings structure and consistency to complex topics.
- Is meticulous about accuracy and version control.
- Balances speed of delivery with editorial quality.
- Is comfortable testing product flows to verify behavior.
- Uses data to decide what to write next and how to improve existing content.
