Job Title: Financial Operations ManagerDescription:The Financial Operations Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing the financial accounting functions within the organization. This position requires a deep understanding of construction accounting principles, financial management, and compliance.This role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining fiscal discipline, and supporting the overall success of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have worked in construction accounting/contractor accounting, with knowledge of the % completion method of accounting and experience working on project profitability.Duties:Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries to ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions.Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.E nsure the monthly close is complete with all general ledger accounts reconciled and analyzed, as appropriate, with variance analysis.Coordinate and facilitate the construction draw process, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of funds for construction activities.Manage the yearly audit and tax compliance process, ensuring all information is complete, accurate, and available for tax preparers and auditors.Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.Ensure control over actual expenses vs budget and participate in cash management and forecasting.Provide management with information vital to decision-making.Oversee the use of property and accounting software to optimize efficiency.Develop and implement processes to improve accounting operations, maximizing the use of technology.Requirements:To be successful in this role, you will need:A Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification with 8-10 years of experience in the real estate/construction industry.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent quality of deliverables.Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.A strong work ethic, high integrity, and excellent follow-up skills.Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills in decision-making.Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.Demonstrated leadership and management skills.Superior ability to track and meet deadlines, focused on overcoming obstacles.High level of computer skills, including extensive experience with Yardi, Procore, or similar real estate accounting systems.Ability to take initiative and manage teams effectively.
