About the role

We are hiring a Staff Software Engineer to join Rippling’s Benefits Team. This role is integral to building scalable, reliable systems within our Benefits Marketplace and Platform. We are seeking candidates from leading tech companies who have demonstrated experience in 0-1 and 1-10 scaling journeys, mentoring junior engineers, and working closely with product managers. Below are the interview process, target candidate profile, and guidelines for screening and interviewing candidates.


What you will do


  • Engineer and maintain innovative, secure, and scalable solutions that meet high-performance standards.
  • Ship large features and improvements independently with minimal guidance.
  • Solve technical problems of high scope and complexity while driving the team’s technical roadmap.
  • Translate high-level business requirements into actionable software designs.
  • Mentor junior engineers, fostering their growth and removing blockers to their success.
  • Act as the technical lead for your team, driving large-scale initiatives and collaborating with business and technical leadership.


Qualifications


  • Experience: 12+ years of programming experience, with expertise in building scalable distributed systems.
  • Proven ability to scale products through various growth phases: 0-1, 1-10, and 10-100.
  • Familiarity with Python, Django, React, MongoDB, AWS, and GoLang.
  • Strong ability to thrive in ambiguous environments, identifying and independently pursuing impactful areas.
  • Passion for solving real-world customer problems and delivering robust technical solutions.
