Role Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Solution Architect with a strong focus on Snowflake to lead the design, implementation, and delivery of modern data solutions. The ideal candidate will bring over 10 years of expertise in data architecture, engineering, and ELT solution design, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in Snowflake, alongside experience in migrations from legacy platforms like Hadoop or Teradata. The role is tailored for professionals with IT services experience, a proven ability to manage large technology accounts, and a drive for delivering scalable, innovative, and client-centric solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Snowflake Solution Design & Architecture:
- Architect and implement end-to-end Snowflake-based data cloud solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
- Lead migrations from legacy platforms like Hadoop or Teradata to Snowflake.
- Data Pipeline Development:
- Develop robust ELT pipelines and transformation workflows tailored for Snowflake, leveraging tools like dbt for automation and optimization.
- Cloud Strategy & AI Integration:
- Drive strategies for Snowflake adoption and data transformation, integrating AI/ML insights to deliver actionable business outcomes.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship:
- Collaborate with technical teams, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure seamless implementation of Snowflake solutions.
- Mentor junior architects and data engineers to cultivate a high-performance team environment.
- Innovation & Best Practices:
- Stay ahead of trends in Snowflake and the broader data cloud ecosystem, incorporating advancements like Snowflake Data Sharing, AI solutions, and cost optimization.
- Client Collaboration:
- Work closely with clients to understand their business challenges and design efficient Snowflake-centric solutions to meet their goals.
Required Qualifications:
Experience:
- 10+ years in data architecture, engineering, or analytics, with at least 3 years of hands-on expertise in Snowflake.
- Proven track record of successful migrations from Hadoop or Teradata to Snowflake.
- Extensive experience in IT services organizations, including proposal creation and talent management.
- History of managing and delivering solutions for large enterprise clients (Fortune 500 preferred).
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and data integration practices
- Experience with SQL and other data manipulation languages
- Deep understanding of Snowflake architecture, security, and performance tuning.
- Strong expertise in ELT pipelines, data modeling, and transformation frameworks using dbt or similar tools.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and how they integrate with Snowflake.
- Knowledge of data analytics tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker)
- Proven ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Education / Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Certifications in Snowflake Data Cloud Solutions is a plus
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A proactive, customer-first mindset with a passion for innovation and growth.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and their integration into Snowflake workflows.
- Experience with multi-cloud environments and Snowflake multi-region setups.
- Knowledge of data governance, Snowflake security best practices, and FinOps optimization.
