Key SolarWinds Automation Engineer RoleWe seek a highly skilled professional to oversee, optimize, and automate various SolarWinds platform functions.The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the SolarWinds Orion suite, with experience in maintenance and troubleshooting, as well as PowerShell Development.Platform Administration: Administer and maintain the SolarWinds Orion platform, including NPM, NCM, SAM, VNQM, and other modules.Automation Expertise: Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automating SolarWinds tasks such as: Node onboarding/offboardingAlert suppression or muting during maintenance windowsCustom alert/report generation and distribution to SolarWinds–ServiceNow integration enhancementsMonitoring and Diagnostics: Implement custom monitoring logic, automated diagnostics, and integrations via Orion API, SWIS, and REST endpoints.Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand automation needs and deliver solutions that support observability workflows.Tool Development: Build tools and utilities to support monitoring self-service, reporting automation, and configuration validation.Monitoring Configuration: Manage custom Pollers, SNMP configurations, and agentless/agent-based monitoring across multi-vendor environments.Query Optimization: Design and optimize SWQL and SQL queries to support reports and custom dashboards for tailored views.Alert Logic: Configure and maintain alert logic, escalation policies, and notification integrations (e.g., with ServiceNow, email, Teams).Troubleshooting: Participate in incident triage and root cause analysis, leveraging SolarWinds logs and metrics.Security Posture: Maintain security posture of the application, including RBAC, SNMPv3, and audit logging.Kanban Tasks: Contribute to and maintain Kanban board tasks and documentation related to SolarWinds projects and issues.
