Enterprise Mainframe System ProgrammerWe are seeking an experienced Enterprise Mainframe System Programmer to join our team. This role focuses on the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-level system software in mainframe environments.Key Responsibilities:Install, configure, and maintain z/OS and subsystems (JES2, RACF, CICS, DB2, IMS).Manage system updates, PTFs, APARs using SMP/E.Ensure system stability and compatibility across releases.Performance Tuning & Capacity Planning:Monitor and optimize CPU, memory, and I/O performance.Tune WLM, Sysplex, and critical components.Conduct capacity planning and recommend hardware upgrades.Security & Compliance:Administer RACF and enforce security policies.Ensure compliance with SOX, PCI-DSS, HIPAA.Apply security patches and mitigate vulnerabilities.Storage & Backup Management:Manage DFSMS, VSAM, HSM, and storage tools.Oversee backups, DR, and high-availability solutions.Optimize disk and tape storage usage.Incident Management & Troubleshooting:Diagnose and resolve system abends and bottlenecks.Analyze dumps, logs, and traces for root cause.Work with IBM support and vendors on complex issues.Automation & Scripting:Develop automation using REXX, JCL, CLIST, Ansible.Improve monitoring, job scheduling, and efficiency.Automate repetitive tasks to streamline processes.Disaster Recovery & High Availability:Implement and test DR plans for business continuity.Maintain Parallel Sysplex and failover configurations.Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:Maintain technical documentation and best practices.Mentor junior team members and share knowledge.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or equivalent experience.5+ years as a z/OS Systems Programmer or similar role.Expertise in z/OS, z/VM, JES2, SMP/E, TSO, ISPF, RACF, JCL, REXX, VTAM, TCP/IP, USS, z/Linux.Strong understanding of IBM mainframe hardware, Sysplex, and storage management.Experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting using logs and dumps.Familiarity with automation tools and middleware integration.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ, WebSphere, or z/VM.Familiarity with ACF2, Top Secret, and cloud integration (zCloud, IBM Z Ansible).Knowledge of Containers, AI, and ability to read Assembler/C code.Certifications: IBM Certified System Programmer – z/OS, ITIL Foundation.What We Offer:Competitive salary and benefits.Opportunity to work on mission-critical enterprise systems.Professional growth and training on modern mainframe and hybrid cloud technologies.Collaborative and inclusive work environment.
