Job Description:Job SummaryWe are seeking a talented Platform Architect to join our Platform Engineering team. You will play a pivotal role in transforming our monolithic applications into modern, microservices-based architecture. Your expertise will be instrumental in building robust frameworks, enabling efficient CI/CD pipelines, and creating a streamlined service catalog. The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinker with a deep understanding of modern software practices and a passion for enabling development teams through advanced platforms and tools.Roles & ResponsibilitiesPlatform Modernization: Lead the decomposition of monolithic systems into microservices and cloud-native architectures on AWS. Ensure scalability, reliability, and security in line with best practices.Framework & IaC Development: Design and maintain frameworks to support robust CI/CD pipelines. Lead the adoption of Terraform and AWS CloudFormation to provision and manage infrastructure as code.Service Mesh and Observability : Lead implementation of API gateways, service mesh architectures, and observability tools to manage distributed systems.Golden Pipeline Strategy: Define, implement, and champion standardized pipelines across teams to ensure security, reliability, compliance, and consistency in software delivery.Metrics : Establish and track DORA metrics (Deployment Frequency, Lead Time, Change Failure Rate, and MTTR) to measure DevOps performance and drive improvements in delivery velocity, stability, and team autonomy.DevOps Maturity Framework: Design and implement a DevOps Maturity Model to assess current state, define target maturity levels, and drive adoption of best practices across CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and release governance.Service Cataloging: Develop a comprehensive service catalog that provides clear visibility and documentation of all services within the organization.Database : Provide architectural guidance on Oracle, SQL and NoSQL database usage across services, ensuring consistency, reliability, and scalabilityDeveloper Platform: Create an internal developer platform, leveraging tools like Backstage, to empower developers with self-service capabilities and streamline their workflows.Technical Leadership: Mentor teams, set technical standards, and advocate for best practices in DevOps, security, and platform engineering. Collaborate across engineering, security, and operations. Must have SkillsMinimum 16+ years of experience in software development, DevOps and AWS cloud InfrastructureAWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or similarDeep expertise in microservices architecture and distributed systemsStrong hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, etc.)Proficient in Terraform and CloudFormationSolid understanding of IaaS, networking, IAM, and cloud security practicesExperience with CI/CD tools (e.g., AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines)Strong programming background in Java, Python, or GoExperience working with Oracle, Aurora, SQL, and NoSQL databasesStrong understanding of API gateway, service mesh, and cloud-native observability tools (Dynatrace is a plus)Excellent communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skillsGood-to-have SkillsExperience with platform engineering tools like Backstage, Harness, etc.Knowledge of event-driven architectures and messaging systems.Experience with serverless computing and functions-as-a-service platforms.Contributions to open-source projects.A passion for staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.Required EducationBachelor's degree in Software Engineering/Computer Science OR equivalent degree.NextGen Healthcare is an equal opportunity employer.
