Job Description
Reel Audiobooks is a boutique audio post production firm geared toward creating compelling audio storytelling environments. We’re looking for a highly skilled 2nd QC Engineer who is fluent in Hindi (as their first language) and passionate about audio stories and eager to help us fulfill our mission.
The position is flexible and can be done remotely. You will be conducting a final review of mastered audiobooks before they go to distribution. You will be reporting to production managers who will set checkpoints and schedule check-ins, however, the position is largely independent and deadline-driven. Previous experience in audiobook post production is a major plus.
Once established in this role, there are other positions within the company that you can be trained for.
Objectives of this Role
Raise the bar on audiobook quality and script accuracy
Work closely with a team of production managers and a team of audio professionals
2nd QC is the final step of the production process, after the audiobook as been edited QC’d and mastered and is intended to catch any issues that may have made it through to this stage.
Daily & Monthly Responsibilities
Follow along with mastered audio against script and flag inaccuracies
Review general audio quality
Review and flag issues with narrator performance
Organize callouts (PUs) into a QC sheet for review
Submit twice-weekly capacity requests to provide availability insights
Meet & beat deadlines
Regular and clear communication
Skills & Qualifications
Must be fluent in Hindi
Must be a detail-oriented individual with an outstanding attention span
Must understand cornerstones of Audio Editing and give detailed reviews of the edit quality.
Must be knowledgeable in Sample Rate, Bit Rate, Dynamics, Room Tone, Pacing
Efficient with folder organization, Excel spreadsheets, Schedules and due dates
Must have fast & reliable internet and regular access to email
High-quality headphones and monitor path are required
Must have a low noise-floor listening environment
Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Audiobook and Editorial industries ( major plus )
Experience in other types of audio post production
A voracious reader ( major plus )
Understanding of Dolby Atmos Binaural format
Wavelab Pro
Pro Tools
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in an audio-related field
Certificate or equivalent in an audio-related field
Regular access to an acoustically treated studio environment
