ROSS also operates a comprehensive global network of 145 stocking distributors, ensuring robust customer service worldwide.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time role for a Sr. Engineer / Lead Engineer / Asst. Manager - Design, located in Ambattur. The role involves designing and developing pneumatic valves and control systems, preparing and reviewing technical drawings, conducting product testing and validation, collaborating with cross-functional teams for project execution, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The engineer will also be responsible for problem-solving and providing technical support to the production and sales teams.ResponsibilitiesManage design and engineering tasks for NPD projects from concept to market release Design and develop components and subsystems Incorporating core engineering principles and customer specifications for Pneumatic valves and other Pneumatic products.Conceptualize new designs and optimize existing products for performance, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.Develop and maintain design documents including 3D models, 2D Manufacturing drawings, Design Calculations, and other relevant documents necessary for stage gate process.Product Cost Estimation.Prototyping, design verification, and product validation with lab tests.Work closely with cross functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and other supporting teams to ensure smooth project progression. Provide technical support to sales, production, and quality control departments and participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.Knowledge sharing and technical issue resolution Participate in continuous improvement activities: cost reduction, quality enhancement, efficiency improvements.Technical SkillsIn-depth knowledge of pneumatic systems, including solenoid valves, Regulators, actuators, and other pneumatic products.Proficiency with 3D CAD software (Solid Edge/Creo) Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, DFMEA, and other design practices .Interpersonal SkillsAbility to communicate effectively with internal and external stake holders A focus on new technology development and continuous improvement. Ability to create and maintain good inter-departmental relationship. Critical and logical thinking for troubleshooting and providing effective solutions. Leadership Skills & Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.Execute responsibilities in a professional , ethical and consistent manner in total compliance with ROSS’s guidelines and policies. Qualification: BE.
