Senior Accounting Specialist Job DescriptionThe Senior Accounting Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy of revenue recognition and reporting processes.This position is responsible for applying technical accounting guidance, performing complex reconciliations, and supporting month-end and quarter-end close activities related to revenue.Key Responsibilities:Own revenue accounting processes, including contract review, billing, and revenue recognition, in compliance with ASC 606.Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and revenue schedules.Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring revenue is recorded timely and accurately.Analyze revenue results, identify variances, and provide meaningful insights to Finance leadership.Review contracts and ensure appropriate accounting treatment.Document and maintain revenue accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.Assist with audits by preparing schedules, providing supporting documentation, and coordinating with external auditors.Requirements:Candidates must be Qualified CA and hold a Bachelors' or Masters' in Business, Accounting or Finance. US-CPA qualification is a plus.Professional hands-on accounting experience of at least 1-2 years with US/UK Accounting.Hands-on experience with Oracle Netsuite is preferred.Experience with Microsoft Office with Advanced Excel knowledge required.Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal with problem solving ability.Flexibility to grow and change with company needs.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Skills and QualificationsA strong understanding of financial principles, along with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, is essential for this role.Mastery of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, will enable you to effectively manage data and create reports.A certification in accounting, such as CA or CPA, is highly valued.About This RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Accounting Specialist and contribute to the success of our organization.You will have the chance to work closely with our finance team and develop your expertise in revenue accounting.We offer a dynamic and supportive environment that fosters growth and learning.
