Job Description:

As an Associate Technical Product Manager, you will focus on creating engaging learning experiences for learners, instructors, and administrators. You’ll work in a collaborative environment with UX, Engineering, and Product Management teams, applying creative and analytical solutions to challenges. Your role involves designing, developing, and delivering high-quality digital learning solutions on time and within scope.

You will partner with product managers to drive the successful delivery of product iterations and platform functionalities that meet market demands and the client’s priorities. Acting as the product's advocate, you will balance customer needs with available resources to deliver effective solutions.

This associate role reports to a Senior Technical Product Manager.

Key responsibilities:

  • Draft project charters, requirements, agile epics, and stories; maintain backlog with high quality stories, acceptance criteria, and current priority.
  • Partner with leadership group (LG) to deliver roadmap commitments on-time, on-scope, on-quality.
  • Work with Technical Product Managers (TPMs) to ensure cross team dependencies are identified, understood by all affected teams, and then properly managed. Support the TPMs in cross-team collaboration and coordination that result in a successful end-to-end user experience.
  • Participate in scrum ceremonies to ensure that there is an understanding of the user stories, enabling sizing and task breakdown to occur, and maximizing team productivity.
  • Communicate with technical teams and business stakeholders, including managing expectations, scope, and prioritization of work.
  • Partner with engineering, product owners, user experience, project management, and QA to investigate, document, and maintain business and technical processes.
  • Work with Product Owners to align your product vision and strategy to company objectives.
  • Get your hands dirty – doing any job on the team necessary to build and ship a successful product.

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2+ years of experience in a Product Manager role.
  • Experience in Agile software product development, including platform, application, or website design.
  • Experience in writing high quality user stories, creating use case diagrams, developing wireframes, analyzing business/ecommerce/SaaS applications, and managing backlogs.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into non-technical terms for business and customer stakeholders.
  • Leadership Potential to work effectively across teams and stakeholders.
  • Deadline-Conscious and results-driven in high-intensity environments.
  • Attention to Detail with the ability to analyze complex systems and manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent English Communication Skills (written and verbal) for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent People Skills for collaborating with diverse teams and handling constructive conflict.
  • Technical Acumen—able to tackle technical issues without needing to code.
  • Critical Feedback Skills for improving solutions through constructive input.
  • Good listener.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with JIRA and Confluences are desirable.
  • Previous experience in software engineering, product design, software support
  • Experience working in an agile and/or lean development environment.
  • Educational industry experience: EdTech, Instructor, Administrator
