Job Description

Position: Cloud Platform Engineering Principal- Bangalore

Overview

Brambles is a global supply chain logistics company operating in more than 60 countries, with its largest operations in North America and Western Europe. It employs more than 14,500 people and is an industry leader in the transportation of goods for customers worldwide. Brambles is looking to extend market leadership and has created of an IOT division called BXB Digital. By tapping into the Internet of Things we are looking to transform the supply chain industry by bringing digital intelligence to the physical assets the company owns globally.

Position

Cloud Engineers set up, operate, develop, evolve, and maintain cloud-centric platform(s) including IoT, Customer Solution Delivery, Data Lakes, Data Hubs and Software Delivery, as well as satellite tools and environments (file storage, databases, data streaming, eventing, machine learning and big data frameworks, notebook technologies, and container orchestration tooling).

Location : Bangalore Hybrid

Key Tasks and accountabilities

Define the solution’s logical design, sizing, interoperability, scaling, and security aspectsManage cloud environments in accordance with the security policies of the Brambles ITAnalyze, optimize, implement, and maintain the cloud-based multi-platform back-end computing environmentImplement and maintain sound engineering design and security technologies for all cloud deploymentsResearch, audit, and test cloud deployment frameworks and best practices for AWS to ensure enterprise compatibility and functionalityCreate reference materials (network diagrams, installation documentation, etc.) for supported cloud technologies to be used for online and in-person training of other technical personnelDirect the deployment and management of Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), RDS, EMR, MWAA, VPC, S3, and other cloud infrastructure components/Cloud agnostic componentsProvide leadership with a comprehensive report on the health of the cloud services, detailing both lifecycle and cost managementSupport project execution activities from implementation to readiness for operationMake recommendations for enhancing the security, scalability, manageability, and performance of a broad range of cloud network, storage, and computing technologiesDevelop precise network, storage, and compute design specifications for stable and secure cloud computing operationsMaintain communication with customers, architectural leadership, and technical teams, including system and network administrators, security engineers, and IT support teamsConstruct and configure build plans, code pipelines, and automated solutions that can be repurposedManage projects and meet deadlines with minimal direction from the supervisor and/or manager
 

Qualifications

Bachelor/Masters in Computer Science or related technical discipline (or equivalent)

Skills/Experience

Experience 4-6+ yrs

3+ years of experience with cloud infrastructure and engineering, including virtualization, cloud, server, storage, and networking (i.e: Kubertenes, dockers, etc.)Expertise in IT technology, including hardware and software, with an E2E-centric applications and services architecture focusExperience supporting distributed enterprise systems with cloud-based application environments and developing implementation standardsDesign expertise for DevOps, SDLC, containers, microservices, and APIsExpertise in cloud computing, IaaS, PaaS, and SaaSExpertise in cloud orchestration and monitoring technology(i.e: Chef, Terraform, Grafana )Experience with business continuity and disaster recovery initiativesCapable of developing policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, and communicating effectivelyExperience working in an agile software development organizationKnowledge of SQL and NoSQL echosystemExperience in Terraform, Python, SQL, Shell ScriptingExperience in EMR, Databricks, Presto, Trino, Airflow, Datalake infrastructure management is a plus
