Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Freelance Data Engineer to join our team and leverage their expertise in Apache NiFi and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem.Design and implement real-time data ingestion pipelines using Apache NiFi for structured and unstructured datasets.Integrate GCP services, including BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Storage, and Composer, to create a seamless data processing experience.Ensure high-quality, low-latency data movement across the pipeline, storage layers, and analytics platforms.Develop and optimize SQL queries for BigQuery and relational databases to support analytics and reporting needs.Create Python scripts for data transformation, automation, and developing custom NiFi processors.Implement robust data quality checks, validation rules, deduplication, late-arriving data handling, and error-handling frameworks.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver analytics-ready datasets and meet business objectives.Maintain data security standards by applying GCP IAM policies, VPC Service Controls, and encryption practices.Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize pipeline performance for reliability and stability.Document data flows, architecture diagrams, transformation logic, and operational best practices.Required Skills & QualificationsHands-on experience with Apache NiFi for real-time data processing and orchestration.Deep understanding of key GCP services, including:Pub/Sub (event ingestion & streaming)BigQuery (warehouse, SQL optimization)Dataflow / Apache Beam (data processing pipelines)Dataproc (Spark/Hadoop processing)Cloud Storage (data lake)Composer / Airflow (workflow orchestration)Advanced SQL skills for querying and optimization.Proficiency in Python for automation and scripting.Familiarity with real-time streaming concepts, data architecture principles, and cloud-based data environments.
