Job Summary: 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Senior Data Migration Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the successful migration of data from legacy systems to SAP platforms, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and consistency throughout the migration process. You will collaborate closely with project managers, developers, SAP functionals, and business SMEs to understand detailed requirements, including source and target data models, migration needs, data cleansing and validation, and data loading strategies. Your role will be essential in executing data migration activities effectively and efficiently. 


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Data Analysis and Mapping: Analyze source data from legacy systems, assess data structure, and create comprehensive mapping documents for seamless alignment with target SAP systems. 
  • Requirement Documentation: Work with key stakeholders to define and document data migration requirements, object-level strategies, and migration timelines. 
  • ETL Process Support: Collaborate with technical teams to execute ETL processes to extract, validate, cleanse, transform, load, and reconcile data into SAP environments using appropriate data migration tools. 
  • Data Validation and Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough data validation checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency in the target system. Identify and resolve any data quality issues proactively. 
  • Testing and Troubleshooting: Lead migration testing efforts and address issues during the migration process, collaborating with QA teams to resolve discrepancies and uphold data integrity. 
  • Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain detailed documentation of migration processes, mapping details, scripts, and transformations. Prepare and share migration status reports with stakeholders. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with cross-functional teams, including IT, business analysts, and project managers, to ensure effective communication of progress, challenges, and solutions. 
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure data security and compliance throughout the migration process, following data governance best practices. 


Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field. 
  • Proven experience (7+ years) in data migration, data analysis, or a similar role. 
  • Strong experience with ETL processes and data migration tools (e.g., SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Informatica, Talend, or similar). 
  • Hands-on experience with SQL and data manipulation skills. 

 

Required Skills:  

  • SAP Expertise: Solid understanding of SAP ECC or S/4HANA data models and processes to facilitate migration. 
  • Excel Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills for mapping, data validation, and reconciliation tasks. 
  • Presentation Skills: Ability to create and deliver impactful PowerPoint presentations to lead discussions on migration approaches, object-level strategies, and issue management. 
  • Data Analysis: Strong SQL skills and data analysis capabilities for examining legacy and target system data. 
  • Database Management: Knowledge of database systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL. 
  • Migration Tools: Familiarity with data migration tools and best practices, including SAP Data Services and LSMW (preferred). 
  • Scripting Languages: Experience with scripting languages like Python is an added advantage. 
  • Data Governance: Understanding of data governance frameworks to maintain data quality and compliance during migration. 
  • Data Visualization: Experience with tools like Power BI or Tableau for presenting data insights and migration progress. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in cloud-based data migrations (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). 
  • Knowledge of data governance and data security practices. 
  • Familiarity with Agile or other project management methodologies.
