Production Planning Specialist

As a Production Planning Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the fabrication process.The primary focus of this position is to create and implement production plans that ensure timely execution of projects.Develop detailed production schedules for heavy fabrication components and assemblies.Analyze technical drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) to determine material requirements and fabrication sequences.Demonstrate expertise in various materials and their properties.Knowledge of Fabrication Process guidelines, Procedures & Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and their application.Understand facilities & capacities available in-house and with vendors.Familiarity with welding guidelines and machining allowance.Coordinate with design, procurement, machining, and quality teams to ensure smooth execution.Load balancing: Plan and allocate resources (machines, manpower, jigs & fixtures) to meet project timelines.Monitor Work-in-Progress (WIP) and update progress reports, highlighting bottlenecks.Plan outsourcing/subcontracting activities where required and follow up for timely completion.Implement lean manufacturing and cycle-time reduction initiatives in fabrication.E nsure compliance with welding procedures (WPS/PQR), quality standards, and safety requirements.Support cost estimation and planning for new product development and focus on cost reduction.Familiarity with ISO & SAP Hana Module will be an added advantage.Familiarity with Microsoft projects for planning & scheduling for resource will be added advantage.This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
