Job Title: Plant Operations DirectorAbout the Role:The successful candidate will oversee plant operations to drive world-class manufacturing excellence in line with Japanese standards and global automotive best practices.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership: • Lead overall production, maintenance, industrial engineering, process engineering, and production planning departments. • Develop and implement a comprehensive manufacturing strategy for productivity, quality, safety, and cost optimization.Operational Excellence: • Oversee daily production to achieve PQCDSM targets (Productivity, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, Morale). • Implement and sustain TPS, Kaizen, Heijunka, Jidoka, 5S, and standardized work systems.Quality & Compliance: • Ensure zero-defect manufacturing through adherence to quality processes. • Collaborate with the Quality team to achieve IATF, ISO, and customer requirements.Process Improvement & Technology: • Drive automation, robotics, and digital manufacturing initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce downtime. • Evaluate new technologies to enhance machine availability.Cross-Cultural & Cross-Functional Coordination: • Foster strong relationships with Japanese engineers, auditors, and global teams. • Facilitate communication, reporting, and technical alignment with Japanese HQ.Team Leadership: • Lead and mentor a large workforce across multiple departments. • Create a culture of continuous improvement, discipline, and operational excellence.Requirements:Eligibility:Japanese Nationals only are eligible to apply.Native-level Japanese fluency is required, with English language ability preferred.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automobile, Production, or related engineering field.Certifications in Lean, TPS, or Six Sigma are advantageous.Experience:At least 18 years of experience in automotive manufacturing, preferably with Japanese OEMs.Strong background in large-scale operations, leadership, and process excellence.Previous international work experience in India or Asia is highly valued.Competencies:Expertise in TPS, Kaizen, Jidoka, Heijunka, and lean manufacturing principles.Strong leadership, communication, and cross-cultural management skills.Ability to handle complex manufacturing challenges and drive efficiency.
