Job DescriptionSAP ABAP Cloud Consultants play a crucial role in designing, developing and implementing cloud-based solutions using SAP's cutting-edge technology.The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, with a focus on ABAP programming language, RAP model, and cloud-based development.Responsibilities include:Create cloud-based solutions leveraging S/4 ABAP Cloud for WRICEF objects.Develop clean core backend code using the latest syntax.Integrate S/4HANA with external systems via APIs and events.Build in-app extensions using RAP and BAdIs.Work on forms, custom reports, enhancements, and CDS views.Participate in greenfield implementations, from requirement gathering through to go-live and support.Provide hands-on support for existing systems, ensuring stability, scalability, and performance.Collaborate with onshore and offshore teams, fostering seamless communication and knowledge sharing.Collaborate with functional consultants and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and deployment activities.Troubleshoot complex issues across back-end, and integration layers. Required Skills and QualificationsThe successful candidate should possess:Proficient in ABAP language, including object-oriented concepts.Experience with the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP), including behavior definitions and metadata extensions.Ability to create and extend ABAP RESTful services and APIs for integration.Skills in using Core Data Services (CDS views) and other HANA-specific features like AMDP (ABAP Managed Database Procedures).Understanding of data structures and how to model them, especially with CDS views.Hands-on experience of integrating with both SAP and non-SAP systems, including RESTful / SOAP APIs/OData.Familiarity with building OData services for modern UIs like SAP Fiori.Proficiency with modern version control systems, especially Git, and SAP's CTS+.Adherence to principles that maintain the stability of SAP's core system and allow for smooth upgrades.Proven experience as an ABAP Cloud Developer with hands-on expertise in SAP ABAP.Experience in greenfield implementations.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with distributed teams (onshore/offshore).Proficiency in modern development frameworks, tools, syntax and methodologies.Minimum 4+ years of experience in SAP S/4HANA application development using RAP model.
