Job Title: AGM / DGM/ GM– Finance ControllerDepartment: Finance & Accounts Business Vertical: Steel Long Products (Wire, Wire Rods, Bars) Location: Kolkata-HO (Corporate) Reporting To: PromotersPosition Overview:The incumbent will be responsible for overall financial control, planning, and reporting for the Steel Long Products business. The role entails leading all aspects of financial management including cost control, working capital optimization, statutory compliance, MIS reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. The position requires strong exposure to manufacturing finance, cost accounting, and commercial analysis.Background: Steel / Metals / Manufacturing / Ferro Alloys industry is mandatory.Experience:12–18 years of post-qualification experience in Finance & Accounts.Minimum 5 years in a leadership role within a Steel / Metals / Manufacturing / Ferro Alloys industry is mandatory.Designation & Compensation:Designation: Asst. General Manager / Dy. General Manager – Finance ControllerCTC: Commensurate with experience and industry standards.Educational Qualification:CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) – Mandatory.Additional certification in Cost Control or Financial Planning preferred.Key Competencies & Skills:Deep understanding of manufacturing commercial finance, steel industry cost structures, and contract management.Strong knowledge of SAP, Excel-based financial modelling, and MIS automation.Analytical mindset with capability to interpret large data and present strategic insights.Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.Integrity, process orientation, and business acumen are critical success factors.Key Responsibilities:Costing & Margin ManagementOversee product costing, conversion cost, and yield analysis for wire rods, wires, and bars.Conduct regular variance analysis (standard vs actual) and highlight key deviations in RM, power, and process efficiency.Support commercial and sales teams with data-driven insights for price negotiations and margin protection.MIS & ReportingDrive a comprehensive MIS framework covering financial, commercial, and operational KPIs.Publish dashboards on sales realization, contribution margin, cost variance, and working capital.Support Group Finance in monthly consolidation, budgeting, and forecasting exercises.Commercial Operations & ComplianceOversee contract management, dispatch accounting, freight optimization, and vendor claim settlements.Ensure GST, TDS, Excise, and statutory compliance for all commercial transactions.Coordinate with auditors for plant-level and business audits, ensuring transparency and accuracy.Implement strong internal control systems (ICS) for commercial risk management.Commercial Finance ControlLead financial governance for the entire Stainless Steel Long Products vertical, including sales, procurement, logistics, and plant commercial activities.Review and control commercial transactions — pricing, dispatch, freight, sales rebates, and contract terms.Ensure accurate booking of revenue, expenses, and cost allocation across plants and product lines.Drive profitability analysis by product, customer, region, and segmentBusiness Partnering & Decision SupportCollaborate with the business head and operations for commercial strategy, costing, and investment planning.Evaluate new business opportunities, contracts, and CAPEX proposals from a financial perspective.Participate in monthly business reviews, providing actionable financial insights and performance dashboards.
