We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Chief Marine Engineer Instructor to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in marine engineering, along with significant practical and teaching experience.

You will be based at our Academy at Bahir Dar University in Ethiopia, and we operate on a 4 month on, 1 month off basis.

Responsibilities

Teaching marine subjects, workshop technology, advanced and basic firefighting, and tanker familiarisation to pre-sea cadets.
Teaching post-sea marine subjects to Class IV candidates.
Teaching marine subjects to engine room ratings.
Utilising a range of teaching methodologies to engage students and promote learning.
Assisting with curriculum development and enhancement.
Ensuring training material and practices meet international standards and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

Must hold a 1st class certificate of competency.
Experience sailing in rank is desirable for at least five years.
A minimum of three years‘ teaching experience as an instructor is preferred.
Must hold a TOTA/TOTI/VICT certificate or equivalent.
Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
