Designation : Lead Engineer - Design

Reporting to : Project Lead

Location : Bangalore, Full Time

Qualification : B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering

Experience : 6 - 8 Years in compressor/pneumatic industry


Position Overview:

This role is for one of the Senior members in in sustaining engineering team for Powerex ( ). The role is to execute/lead sustaining engineering projects that comprises of Design, CAD modelling, Drawings, BOM restructuring, Reports and product Roll-out activities. This person will be responsible for quality of deliverables and managing time of all the projects within team.


Key Responsibilities / Functions:

  • Should be from air compressors or pneumatic system background
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and their application in projects.
  • On-time project delivery while upholding utmost technical and quality standards
  • Flexible in adapting quickly to changing business needs, tasks, and project priorities
  • Experience in NPD process is required
  • Strong in driving Continuous Improvement/VAVE projects
  • Contributing to the business through innovative ideas and out-of-the-box thinking


Required Qualifications: (Education, Technical Skills/Knowledge)

  • Experience in overall Product design in compressor/pneumatic industry
  • Knowledge & Experience in NPD, VA/VE and Roll-out process is must
  • Need to follow project guidelines and collaborate with global senior managers to produce designs, drawings and prepare BOM
  • Exposure to production floor environment and product build activities is required
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including design specifications, progress reports, and change orders.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on project status, milestones achieved, and challenges faced.
  • Creation and modifying of 3d model and 2d drawings
  • Knowledge on pneumatic piping
  • Need to create wiring diagrams, E-plan, initial layouts and process sheets
  • Ability to work on BOM management
  • Expertise in CAD software Solid Edge
  • Experience in working in Team center PDM environment
  • Exposure to engineering/production change management (ECN/PCN) Process
  • Thorough Knowledge on Sheet metal design and manufacturing methods
  • Experience in GD&T, and Tolerance stack up analysis
  • Experience on DFM and DFA
  • Willingness to learn Microsoft excel VBA to improve efficiency & accuracy


Nice to have Requirements :

  • Basic Knowledge in project management
  • Knowledge on die casting & forging process is added advantage
  • Exposure to different international standards and regulations with respect to compressor/pneumatic industry
