Senior Lithium-Ion Battery Assembly Facility Manager

Plant HeadThe Plant Head will be responsible for establishing and leading a state-of-the-art lithium-ion battery pack assembly facility, driving operational excellence, ensuring safety, and delivering high-quality output aligned with business objectives.This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role involving end-to-end ownership of plant setup, commissioning, production operations, workforce development, and continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities:Establish the setup of the greenfield Li-ion battery pack assembly facility from concept to full-scale production.Define plant layout, equipment selection, installation, automation requirements, and production workflow design.Ensure adherence to project timelines, cost objectives, compliance, and quality standards.Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, EHS, Quality, and Technology teams for seamless commissioning.Oversee full-scale production operations delivering MWh and GWh level containerized battery energy storage solutions.Define and manage KPIs for productivity, yield, safety, delivery, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).Ensure strict compliance with global standards for battery performance, traceability, and EV/BESS industry norms.Drive digital manufacturing implementation including MES, automation, and data-driven decision-making.Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing workforce including experienced senior engineers, supervisors, and technicians.Establish a strong culture of safety, operational discipline, continuous improvement, and accountability.Enable talent development and succession planning to support rapid business scale-up.Work closely with SCM to ensure availability of critical components including cells, modules, BMS, enclosures, and raw materials.Optimize inventory planning, vendor performance, and logistics efficiency for uninterrupted operations.Implement world-class Quality Management Systems (ISO/TS standards).Ensure best-in-class EHS practices tailored to Li-ion battery handling, storage, and manufacturing.Ensure plant operations comply with national and international regulatory requirements.Drive operational excellence initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, and continuous improvement projects.Monitor and improve plant profitability, productivity, and cost drivers.Required Skills and Qualifications:The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, preferably with a background in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline. Strong technical expertise in lithium-ion batteries, power electronics, and manufacturing systems is required.A minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership role within the renewable energy or electric vehicle industry is essential.
