The Revenue Accounting Manager plays a key role in the newly centralized and specialised Revenue Accounting (RA) team and will be accountable for the integrity of client financial data and the linking of same to operational and financial systems for appropriate revenue recognition. This role is also accountable to ensure revenue contract assurance is conducted according to the service line compliance framework and dentsu policies.


This role will works closely with the US Revenue Accounting & Assurance team, Commercial Finance, Financial Control, Operational Finance and Client Services teams and manages the day-to-day tasks and deliverables of the Revenue Accounting Analysts.

Timing :: 2:30 pm to 11 Pm on non month end days and during month end it will be from 6 PM to 3 AM


Job Description

Revenue Recognition Subject Matter Expert and Contract Maintenance

  • Review and support the maintenance of the contractual information database to support revenue recognition
  • Provide and support technical revenue recognition guidance in accordance with dentsu’s revenue recognition policy and IFRS 15 in order to properly recognise revenue
  • Develop a solid understanding of the business model to appropriately apply technical accounting guidance and solve real-time issues and concerns
  • Support the revenue team and process build out.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Finance and Client Teams to provide revenue recognition guidance
  • Work cross-functionally with different departments to understand the accounting impact and determine appropriate treatment
  • Review and provide support for requests for internal, external financial and client audits
  • Ensure that statements of work/POs are compliant and assessed for potential risks
  • Develop and implement tools, templates and systems for the appropriate classification and reporting of revenue
  • Ensure that statements of work/POs are agreed and signed before work is undertaken
  • Ensure projects/campaigns are set-up accurately and in accordance with the statements of work/insertion orders.
  • Review the production and reconciliation of monthly booking schedules to support revenue recognition
  • Liaise with Finance and Client Teams to ensure the completeness of revenue for period end reporting
  • Participate in and provide the required inputs for the month-end close review meeting with the Commercial Finance and Financial Control Teams
  • Work closely with Commercial Finance, Client Teams, and FP&A as it relates to revenue forecasting
  • Review month end tasks to verify client revenue and the review of client balances (WIP, prebill, trade receivables, and accrued and deferred income balance sheet accounts in liaison with RTR, Commercial Finance and, Client Teams
  • Perform and own JSOX controls as it relates to revenue and revenue related balance sheet accounts (i.e., client balances)
  • Drive continuous improvements in the processes for reporting revenue
  • Develop and ensure maintenance of KPI dashboards to support the Client Teams by providing an up-to-date and accurate view of projects/jobs
  • Liaise with Operations Team to ensure the accuracy of client invoicing
  • Manage and develop direct reports, including career development and succession planning


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • CPA /CA with 8 years of experience
  • Strong Revenue Accounting Experience role
  • Some industry experience in client accounting and assurance processes
  • Knowledge of D365, Nexelus, MediaOcean or similar client job costing/media booking and accounting platforms
