Senior Mortgage Underwriter Job DescriptionAt the core of our mortgage underwriting operations, we require a seasoned professional to oversee the meticulous evaluation and approval/denial processes of loan documents. This pivotal role demands an individual with extensive expertise in US mortgage underwriting guidelines (FNMA, FHLMC, GNMA). The successful candidate will possess exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to make informed judgments when assessing loan documents.Key Responsibilities:Evaluate comprehensive loan documentation, ensuring accurate approval or denial decisions.Analyze credit reports for trade lines, derogatory accounts, public records, and credit reconciliation.Carefully calculate income from various sources, including salaried, business, retired, and rental income.Verify collateral and property valuation, as well as assets such as bank statements, retirement accounts, mutual funds, and other investments.Conduct thorough credit analysis based on borrower's income, assets, liabilities, and collateral to assess creditworthiness.Validate and process loan documents on behalf of a mortgage lender organization.Evaluate evidence of borrower's willingness and ability to repay obligations.
