About the Role:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Node.js Backend Developer to join our engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable backend systems. You will work closely with frontend developers, data engineers, and other team members to deliver high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Build RESTful APIs and GraphQL APIs to expose data and functionality to frontend applications.
  • Implement robust data access and persistence layers using PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
  • Develop and maintain microservices architecture, ensuring efficient communication and data flow between services.
  • Write clean, well-structured, and maintainable code.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers to define and implement APIs and data formats.
  • Optimize application performance, scalability, and security.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Node.js and backend technologies.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in backend development using Node.js and TypeScript
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and Node.js fundamentals
  • Experience with frameworks like NestJS or Express.js
  • Experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and design patterns
  • Knowledge of RESTful API design and implementation
  • Experience with asynchronous programming and event-driven architectures
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with GraphQL API development
  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Redis
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with testing frameworks like Jest or Mocha
