L&T Semiconductor Technologies | Lead Thermal Engineer

Job Description:
Minimum Qualification :
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Thermal Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in thermal simulation and analysis, ideally within Semiconductor product design, power, automotive, or industrial sectors.
- Proven track record of using simulation tools like ANSYS, COMSOL, Fluent, SolidWorks, or similar.
- Experience with thermal testing and validation in real-world applications.
- Advanced certifications or training in thermal simulations or heat transfer principles is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Thermal Modelling & Simulation:
- Develop and implement thermal models using simulation tools to predict temperature distribution, heat flux, and thermal stresses in components and systems. Analyse data from simulations and testing to draw conclusions about thermal performance. Provide clear, detailed reports and recommendations to improve thermal efficiency or resolve thermal-related issues
- Thermal Testing:
- Perform tests to measure temperature variations, heat transfer rates, and thermal properties of materials and systems
- Design Support:
- Provide thermal design recommendations to product design teams, ensuring that components are thermally optimized for performance, reliability, and safety.
- Material Evaluation:
- Assess and recommend materials with specific thermal properties (e.g., thermal conductivity, specific heat capacity) for semiconductor product designs.
- process development:
- Work with other engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, material science) to integrate thermal analysis into the overall product development process.
- Problem Solving:
- Identify thermal-related problems and propose effective solutions, such as heat sinks, insulation, or cooling mechanisms.
- Compliance & Standards:
- Ensure thermal designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
