Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Operations Engineer to join our team immediately. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Application Support, Server Platforms, Middleware Platforms, and Database Management. In this role, you will provide technical support for applications hosted across various server and middleware environments. You will also be responsible for monitoring and optimizing system performance while ensuring high availability.
Key Responsibilities:
Application Support: Provide ongoing support for applications hosted on diverse Server Platforms including Unix/AIX, Linux, and Windows.
Middleware Support: Provide support for applications hosted on various Middleware Platforms such as WebSphere, WebLogic, JBOSS, Tibco V5/V6, and ForgeRock OpenDJ.
Database Management: Manage and support UDB/DB2 and Oracle databases, ensuring efficient operation and availability.
Scripting & Automation: Develop and maintain Shell Scripts to automate tasks and system management processes.
Job Scheduling & Monitoring: Schedule, run, and monitor batch jobs using IBM Tivoli Workbench Scheduler and manage file transfer jobs via SFTP or Connect Express.
Incident & Change Management: Handle incident, problem, and change management in accordance with industry best practices, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
System Monitoring & Optimization: Continuously monitor system health and application performance, applying optimization techniques to ensure high system uptime and reliability.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google CloudExperience: 5-6 years of experience in Application Support, Server Management, and Middleware Platforms.
Server Platforms: Strong experience with Unix/AIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems.
Middleware Platforms: Expertise in supporting applications hosted on WebSphere, WebLogic, JBOSS, Tibco V5/V6, and ForgeRock OpenDJ.
Database Expertise: Proficiency in managing UDB/DB2 and Oracle databases.
Scripting: Strong knowledge and experience in Shell scripting for automation and system management.
Job Scheduling & Monitoring: Experience in using IBM Tivoli Workbench Scheduler for batch job scheduling and monitoring.
Incident & Change Management: Familiarity with ITIL best practices for incident, problem, and change management.
Analytical Skills: Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills for diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
