Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.ACCOUNTING MANAGER (INDIA)As the company expands its international footprint and provides Starlink (our revolutionary satellite low-latency broadband internet) across the globe, Starlink Satellite Communications Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SpaceX is seeking an accounting manager based in India to help ensure our financial reporting obligations are met. Its mission is to deliver global internet access, and it is ideally suited to support rural and geographically isolated areas where internet connectivity is unreliable or nonexistent.Based in Bangalore, India, the Accounting Manager will play a key role in defining and scaling the accounting, reporting and statutory compliance activities to support India operations. RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead the financial statement audit process for the India entity and other local entities within the regionPrepare statutory financial statements for the India entity and other local entities across the region, intercompany accounting, and recording of entries between local entitiesPrepare balance sheet reconciliations, VAT balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries arising at month end, including retrieval of data from systems for all local entitiesPartner with tax team to record local tax provision, intercompany entries, including, but not limited to, transfer pricing and intercompany interestManage the revenue and receivables process for Starlink India including responsibility for accounting of enterprise agreements under US GAAP and local GAAP; manage the monthly close process to support corporate and local booksEstablish and strengthen policies and procedures, internal financial controls and other related documentation as neededIdentify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutionsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in accounting, commerce, or other business disciplineQualified Chartered Accountant7+ years of accounting or audit experience in public accounting/Big 4, or with a multinational organization, including experience with revenue and financial reportingPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Financial reporting experience under local GAAP, and moderate knowledge of US GAAPExperience with the multinational environmentDetail-oriented, excellent analytical skills, and numerically mindedAdvanced Excel skillsIntercompany accounting experience VAT/GST experienceStrong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work with global teams, and ability to be a team player within a small local teamAbility to work towards multiple tight deadlinesAbility to embrace change based on business needs, and ability to work in a startup-type environmentSQL experienceADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:We will be prioritizing local applicants who have the current right to work in IndiaThis is a 100% onsite position based in our Bangalore, India office.
