US Tax Preparer and Accountant

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Prepare/Review US Individual (1040), Trust (1041), Partnership and Corporate Tax returns
  • Gathering information, requesting missing information, scheduling the return for preparation, preparing tax return and coordinating with managers to get the returns delivered to the clients within timeframe.
  • Handle and resolve tax queries from the team.
  • Process monthly journal entries and prepare General Ledger account reconciliations.
  • Work independently and with junior accountants on bookkeeping and review financials.
  • Close books monthly/quarterly/annually.
  • Develop content and conduct trainings.
  • Ability to identify gaps, coach, mentor and develop technical skills of team members.
  • Build professional relationship with the US engagement teams.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • A minimum of 3 years of federal income tax preparation experience.
  • BCom / MCom / BBA / MBA degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; Masters degree preferred.
  • Licensed CPA, Enrolled Agent or equivalent preferred.
  • Proficient in UltraTax CS, ATx or similar tax software; Accounting CS, QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop or similar accounting software.
  • Aptitude for learning technology.
  • Ability to take on multiple projects simultaneously and complete in a timely manner.
  • Strong commitment to an entrepreneurial work ethic.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written English language communication skills.
  • A process improvement and knowledge-sharing mindset.
  • Be comfortable in and execute effectively in cross-cultural business settings.
  • Experience working with an outsourcing work stream or in a shared service environment required.
  • Experience using the MS applications software suite.
