Job DescriptionOur organization is seeking an experienced SolarWinds Automation Engineer to optimize and automate various functions of our SolarWinds platform.The ideal candidate will administer and maintain the SolarWinds Orion platform, including NPM, NCM, SAM, VNQM, and other modules.This role involves developing and maintaining PowerShell scripts for automating tasks such as node onboarding/offboarding, alert suppression or muting during maintenance windows, custom alert/report generation, and integration enhancements with ServiceNow.Key responsibilities include implementing custom monitoring logic, automated diagnostics, and integrations via Orion API, SWIS, and REST endpoints.Collaboration with stakeholders is crucial in understanding automation needs and delivering solutions that support observability workflows.Skills in building tools and utilities to support monitoring self-service, reporting automation, and configuration validation are essential.Management of custom Pollers, SNMP configurations, and agentless/agent-based monitoring across multi-vendor environments is a key aspect of this role.Designing and optimizing SWQL and SQL queries to support reports and custom dashboards for tailored views is critical.Configuration and maintenance of alert logic, escalation policies, and notification integrations are also key responsibilities.Participation in incident triage and root cause analysis using SolarWinds logs and metrics is expected.Maintenance of security posture, including RBAC, SNMPv3, and audit logging, is vital.Contribution to and maintenance of Kanban board tasks and documentation related to SolarWinds projects and issues is required.
