Position: Australian Payroll and Bookkeeping Specialist

Experience: 2 to 4 years

Location: Bangalore


About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Bookkeeper with proven expertise in Australian bookkeeping, payroll, and ATO compliance. This role is ideal for someone who can handle end-to-end bookkeeping tasks with precision, manage payroll in line with Australian legislation, and support financial reporting for a growing international business.

Experience in NDIS, healthcare, or medical bookkeeping will be highly regarded and considered a strong advantage.


Key Responsibilities


  • Handle end-to-end bookkeeping: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
  • Process accurate and compliant payroll for Australian employees, including Superannuation and PAYG.
  • Prepare and lodge BAS, PAYG, Superannuation, and other statutory reports as per ATO requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies in payroll or financial records.
  • Stay current with Australian tax laws and Fair Work regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Manage staff rostering and timesheet processing for seamless payroll operations.
  • Assist with financial analysis and reporting for management and auditors.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure timely submission of all compliance requirements.


Requirements


  • 2 to 4 years of experience in Australian bookkeeping and payroll roles.
  • Hands-on expertise with Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or similar accounting software.
  • Understanding of BAS, PAYG, Superannuation, Fair Work, and Australian accounting standards.
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate effectively.
  • Certificate IV in Accounting & Bookkeeping or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • Bonus: Experience in NDIS bookkeeping, healthcare sector bookkeeping, or medical bookkeeping.
