Vicarious Surgical is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Bangalore, India. This individual will be employed by a Professional Employer Organization (PEO), but doing work specifically for Vicarious Surgical. This role will be tasked with supporting mechanical development of equipment associated with our surgical robot.Vicarious Surgical is a US based next generation robotics company developing a disruptive technology with the goal of increasing the efficiency of surgical procedure, improving patient outcomes, and reducing healthcare costs.This is a terrific opportunity for an engineer to join our company at a very exciting time and be a key member of a team of mission-driven and kind individuals with diverse experiences to lead Vicarious into its next phase of market disruption. Working hours of Monday through Friday (Office hours start at 4PM to ensure significant overlap with US hours)ResponsibilitiesParticipate in all phases of product development, including but not limited to concept generation, detailed design, and manufacturing process developmentManage a moderate scope of work including ownership of some subsystems within a larger piece of equipmentUnderstand, analyze, and suggest design improvements to existing prototypesWork with internal and external resource to produce highly functional prototypesBe a helpful, collaborative team memberSkills NeededFamiliarity with electromechanical designProficiency with solid modeling required, Solidworks preferred, experience with Master Modelling and complex surface modeling nice to haveAbility to interact effectively with multiple stakeholders requiredAbility to produce, review and understand engineering drawings.GD&T and tolerance analyses experience  preferredUnderstanding of Design for Manufacturing, Design for Inspection, and various assembly techniques requiredComfort with and understanding of the interplay between various components of a complex, electromechanical system and collaboration with multiple functional groups desired Experience with medical device product development and the 510(k) submission process preferredPrior experience with test strategies to advance from prototypes to finished products helpfulSheet Metal, plastics experience helpful Ability to work independently and autonomously when necessaryAbility to effectively communicate ideas and give/receive constructive feedbackPrior experience working on a Robotics Systems and/or human input devices is a plusAbout YouBachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field4 + years experience with Bachelor's Degree2 + years experience with Master's DegreePassion for excellence in product developmentEnthusiasm, willingness to learn and a positive attitudeTogether, we share a love for learning and we are passionate teachers.  As a company, we set ambitious goals and individually, we share in that ambition.
