Job Title: Senior Data Security SpecialistAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Data Security Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and enforcing governance, compliance, and security controls across modern data platforms built on Azure and Databricks.Key Responsibilities:Establish and maintain a robust data governance framework including policies, standards, and procedures to ensure secure data handling and management.Implement and manage fine-grained access control using Azure AD, RBAC, and Databricks Unity Catalog to safeguard sensitive data.Oversee metadata management, data cataloging, and lineage tracking across data assets to ensure transparency and accountability.Evaluate and implement secure data flows across ADF, Databricks, AAS, and Power BI to prevent data breaches.Develop and enforce role-based and row-level security in semantic models to restrict unauthorized data access.Collaborate with engineering teams to enforce encryption in transit and at rest, ensuring confidential data protection.Design and audit secret management practices using Azure Key Vault and Databricks secret scopes to maintain confidentiality.Define and monitor data quality rules, including automated validation processes, to maintain data accuracy.Lead compliance initiatives to meet GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA, or industry-specific requirements by ensuring regulatory adherence.Conduct regular audits, review access logs, and investigate anomalies to identify potential security threats.Provide governance oversight for semantic models to ensure consistent metric definitions and accurate decision-making.Collaborate with business data owners and stewards to assign ownership and accountability, promoting a culture of responsibility.Deliver training and communication to promote a data governance culture across teams, enhancing knowledge sharing and best practices.RequirementsTo succeed in this role, you will need:Expertise in data governance, compliance, and security principles and practices.Experience working with Azure, Databricks, and other modern data platforms.Familiarity with data cataloging, metadata management, and lineage tracking.Strong understanding of access control mechanisms, including Azure AD and RBAC.Knowledge of encryption techniques and their implementation in transit and at rest.Skills in secret management practices and auditing.Ability to develop and enforce data quality rules and monitor their effectiveness.Leadership skills to drive compliance initiatives and ensure regulatory adherence.Analytical skills to identify security threats and develop solutions.BenefitsWe offer a competitive compensation package, including:Opportunities for professional growth and development.A dynamic and collaborative work environment.A comprehensive benefits program.Flexible work arrangements.
