Job Description : The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hospital pharmacy, ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient dispensing of medications. This role involves managing pharmacy staff, maintaining compliance with regulations, managing inventory, and ensuring the highest standard of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Pharmacy Operations Management:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hospital pharmacy, ensuring that all activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
Ensure accurate and timely dispensing of medications to patients.
Develop and implement policies and procedures for the safe storage, handling, and administration of medications.
Staff Management:
Supervise, train, and mentor pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to staff.
Schedule staff shifts and manage workload distribution to ensure optimal pharmacy operations.
Inventory Management:
Monitor and manage the inventory of medications and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to procure medications and supplies at optimal pricing.
Ensure that expired or recalled medications are removed and properly disposed of.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure that all pharmacy operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including the maintenance of proper documentation and records.
Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Patient Care:
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide optimal pharmaceutical care to patients.
