JOIN OUR MARINE DEPARTMENT IN CHENNAI
The Marine department of COWI, India is undertaking projects from both international and domestic markets and offers a comprehensive range of consulting services related to the development of ports, harbours, coastal and marine structures etc. COWI Marine department is supporting their clients to draw a detailed picture of any consequences on the built and natural environment arising from the development/installation of any port, marine, coastal project.


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Reclamation and Ground Improvement Lead Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing reclamation and ground improvement projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
In this position, you will join our global team of experts and work closely with Specialists/ Head of Sections. Your finest task in our team will be deep geotechnical analysis and design of foundations for Port structures under Marine conditions, and the design of reclamation and Ground improvement works.


On a day-to-day basis you will:

Lead and oversee reclamation and ground improvement projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Provide technical guidance and expertise in reclamation and ground improvement techniques, including soil stabilization, ground reinforcement, and erosion control. Develop and review project designs, plans, and specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Manage and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure project requirements and expectations are met. Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of workmanship and safety. Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with reclamation and ground improvement projects. Prepare and present project reports, including progress updates, budget status, and technical documentation.

Have master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.  Have minimum of 8 years of experience in reclamation and ground improvement projects, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Be strong in project management and leadership skills. Have proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools viz. slope/W, Plaxis, Settle 3, LPile, Group, and Wallap Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Have in-depth knowledge of reclamation and ground improvement techniques and best practices. Have the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
