Position Summary

:

The incumbent in his position shall function as the senior technical specialist who makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have a far reaching impact on extensive engineering and related activities of the company. Must have the ability to understand technical language and specification requirements associated with materials and fabrication of TEI equipment with a focus of Struthers well products. Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications sheets and other technical documentation. The employee must be able to gain quick familiarity with fabrication shop capabilities, limitations and processes and subcontract Manufactures and material suppliers. This person will have 7 or more years of experience in heat exchanger design and engineering for the power, process and petrochemical industries and shall have overall responsibility for the following Activities:

Provide expertise and leadership in design engineering, process engineering, ancillary equipment and project engineering. Provide direction and technical support to staff and interface with Fichtner to maintain BPI technical leadership. Ensuring technical deliverables adhere to Quality, Schedule and Cost requirements. Implement initiatives to increase productivity & profitability. Extensive engineering/shop interface. Essential Responsibilities: Encourage team work. Provide engineering expertise, design development, and technical support for assigned projects. Responsibilities for implementation of valve engineering within the group. Assist Sales in the technical review of proposal documents and provide other technical support as needed. Assist and support company process improvements such as Document Control, procurement packages. Drawing and Data Transmittal schedule (DDTS), engineering automation and earned value reporting. Must become efficient in the change management system and is responsible to ensure all RFTs and Change items are processed within the time limits established. Responsible for Similar performance of all direct reports. Develop new ideas and design concepts, discuss technical and routine projects reviews, manage engineering job progress and extensive interface with project management group. Travel of SFS several times per year to discuss ongoing Projects and Continuous Improvement of assigned projects. Provide forecasted engineering project manhour expenditures once per month within 24hours of receiving request for update from scheduling. Working with project Controls, identify resource needs and participate in the process of locating, evaluating, selecting and training of the needed resources. Extensive shop interface during project execution stage, installation, commissioning, and warranty period. Provide technical direction, supervise activities, and provide leadership in technical decision making process. Troubleshooting and technical assistance to address warranty issues.
Preparation of Data sheets for all types of heat exchangers, waste heat boilers, sulfur condenser etc. Calculation for the thermal rating and mechanical design heat exchangers and other products offered by TEI and SW. Review and coordinate suppliers including vendor drawing review. Support in-house manufacturing production in timely drawing releases to production, technical support for fabrication and testing. Research potential technology solutions in support of new initiatives and opportunities and make recommendations as needed. Provide day-to-day decision-making on critical project issues as they pertain to engineering scope, schedule, methodology and resources. Implement cost reduction initiatives within engineering to increase competitiveness and productivity as well as enhance engineering capabilities to achieve the same. Support the development of new and review of existing Standards and Procedures used in design, manufacture, installation and operation of TEI/SW equipment as appropriate. Job Requirements / Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

EDUCATION:

B.S/M.S. or B.E./M.E. in Mechanical Engineering Knowledge of Heat Transfer and Structural Analysis Project Management Certificate desirable

EXPERIENCE:

10 - 20 years working experience in the specific industry with strong management skills and leadership. Extensive Technical knowledge of the product line. Strong Technical Leader, good technical communication, ability to provide clear technical direction. Customer Interface, meeting Conference calls, site walk-downs, face to face meetings.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS – This is a desk- type job with some travel. Due to the time-zone difference with US. the job is likely to require early-morning and /or late-night communication requirements.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT – The nature of the position involves thermal power stations and O&G installation. It is expected that the individual will need to travel to plant worksites.
