About the role – Technical Artist
As a Technical Artist at Altoura, you will be responsible for implementing UI designs in Unity for PC, mobile, and AR/VR platforms. You will collaborate with designers, engineers, and 3D artists to ensure visually stunning and responsive user experiences. Your work will involve creating micro animations, building custom shaders, and optimizing particle systems to elevate the UI and interaction quality across various platforms.
You will also contribute to building and maintaining a robust prefab library. Additionally, you will ensure that all assets and UI elements are optimized. This role requires a solid understanding of Unity's UI systems, basic C# scripting, and the ability to work with various assets in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Work with engineers and designers to implement UI features such as 2D and 3D layouts, menu logical flows, animations and more in Unity.
- Optimize UI for performance, ensuring seamless user experiences.
- Create and manage micro animations in Unity.
- Build custom shaders and optimize particle systems in Unity.
- Work with 3D assets, including creation, texturing, and rigging.
- Collaborate with designers to build UX prototypes in Unity.
- Write basic C# scripts to integrate UI elements with the overall system.
- Build and maintain a prefab library.
- You will need scheduling flexibility to collaborate with teams across different time zones.
Qualifications:
- 4 to 5 years of work experience as a technical artist.
- A portfolio of example projects.
- Strong experience with Unity, especially in UI implementation.
- Proficiency in creating custom shaders and working with particle systems.
- Experience with lighting and rendering in Unity.
- Knowledge of tweening and micro animations in Unity.
- Basic C# programming skills.
- Familiarity with UX prototyping and design principles.
- Basic Photoshop, Illustrator and Maya/Blender skills.
- You need to have a good visual sense along with technical competencies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Bonus Experience:
- Experience with 3D asset creation, texturing, and rigging.
- Html/CSS experience.
- Previous AR/VR work experience.
